FRIDAY is the indie project of lifelong friends Koen and Quinten. After years of balancing day jobs with late-night rehearsals, they first emerged with a bright, hook-filled sound built on friendship and the idea of freedom.

Their path led them through entrepreneurship and major label deals, successes that looked like dreams fulfilled: two Top Songs on Dutch radio, more than 15 million Spotify streams, and sold-out shows. Yet both business and industry came with cages of their own, sparking the urge to break free again.

Their third album marks that break: darker in tone, more introspective, and less pop-polished. The songs explore themes of escape, disillusionment, and searching for meaning in a world that feels both limitless and suffocating.

Still carrying the anthemic spirit that defined their early work, FRIDAY now blends that energy with rawer edges and deeper textures—indie at heart, with the grit of lived experience. It’s music for the in-betweens: the late hours, the restless mornings, the moments when breaking free feels urgent and necessary.
